Here is a first look at my sculpt of the vicious Skellbot. We will be releasing this under our new Toy company TOIKO! This is still undergoing tweaks and is hopefully going to go into limited production soon. The first colorway will be the Rojoaka Version, “RED RED”. The Rojoaka will be limited to 27 pieces. Prices are still to be determined. If you are interested in getting on the mailing list please put TOIKO in the subject line of your email.

This is the Metal Skell v.1 hand painted one of a kind proto type. This is one of the earliest designs and now the Skell’s are much different looking. This is a very cool piece and measures in at almost 4″ tall. His body is a combination of Blue and Gold metalllics and he has reddish glass eyes. He’s got a real beat up and war scared look about him. He’s gone through some hard missions but has seemed to survive somehow. Skellbot’s are a tough bunch and are not to be taken lightly. I don’t really want to part with this but I’m trying to generate some funds for new toy projects. This is your chance to own a piece of Butcher Brand history! So Friday night I spent trying out some new liquid plastic on a few of my new silicon molds. My first attempls at making casts were fun and semi-successful. I can’t say the same for the smooth-cast plastic. I had nothing but a bubbling mess that gave me less than acceptable results. I’ve done some slow curing resin and polystone and those seemed to work out fine but this quick cure plastic is not for me. Here is a small glimpse of one of my polystone pieces. I am working on a small army of these that will be for sale soon, prices and quantity coming soon too. If you are interested please drop me a line to secure one for you. By the way this is not the colorway but merely a proto-type I will have full turnarounds of the first wave soon.

Had a great time at Wondercon 2008. Ran into a lot of old friends and made a few new ones. I had the honor of drawing a piece in Katie Mignola’s convention sketchbook, yes her Dad is Mike Mignola that guy, ya know the one who made up Hellboy. So ya no pressure there at all. Anyway it was a blast and I’m looking forward to having a table next year with some cool new stuff which is in the works now.
